EPV Real Time is a new product designed to access SMF data directly in the z/OS memory and send it to an external server for data collection and processing.
EPV Real Time is composed by three main programs: the first one runs a started task on z/OS and the other two may run on a Windows, Linux or Unix server.
Major advantages over any other competitor product:
• minimum resource utilization on z/OS; EPV just transfer data through TCP/IP without any additional processing;
• minimum delay; unlimited parallel processing both on z/OS and on the external platform.
Goal
The first goal of EPV Real Time is to stream all the needed SMF data to an external platform in real time and collect it in a SQL DB.
The second goal is minimizing the resources used on z/OS.
Input
EPV Real Time natural input are the SMF records collected in-memory.
